Finally found a wargame that my partner got excited to play. She pushed my scout to his death and was really happy! I believe this might be one of the best gateway wargames ever.
Shipped fast, was very well packed and arrived undamaged. The starter set miniatures are great quality, and were easy to remove from the snap tray. They have great details and are a joy to paint! Lot's of very cool detail on all the models. I was also able to reuse the snap tray base to create another wooden platform for use in future games once we've played through the starter set scenarios.
The playmat and MDF terrain pieces were also great quality. The small rules/scenarios book is a high quality glossy print, and helped us get playing right away. Overall this is a great starter set to get you hooked on the awesome art, lore and world of 1490 Doom!
Great little starter set. Its going into my regular rotation of miniature games.
A great starter set that introduced me to the basics of the game in an easy to understand format. My neighbor and I had lots of laughs whenever someone who had no business trying to climb without a ladder failed the skill check roll every single time. The dice was as unforgiving as the creeping death. Quick set up and breakdown facilitates quick sessions with family and friends. I am a new convert to this game and can't wait to share it with everyone I know!
awesome game, awesome forum, awesome delivery, awesome lore
I love the models and terrain. The rules are really fun and intuitive to pick up
I am so happy with my order that I can't contain myself. My order arrived in perfect condition, arrived sooner than expected, and the starter set was better than I could have hoped for. The rules are easy and quick to understand. The game is amazingly fun. Worth every penny and more. I can't wait to be able to buy more!!!
Incredible introduction to the system.
amazing starter box everything you need for hours of fun, truly 5 start.
Game was super fun to assemble, paint and play.
Fun kit that feels a bit lacking in content for the price; given the three unit per-player structure of the game it feels fitting that it should include a total of six minis instead of four at the current price. That said the prints are good, art is good, vibes are great.
Shipping was prompt. Packaging was top notch. All pieces of the product arrived in excellent condition. And to top it off, the game is a blast to play.
😍
Great way to introduce 1490 Doom to anyone including people have not played minuters games before.
Came in fearly quickly and in perfect condition. The game itself is Mint can't wait to set it up and play.
The minis are fantastic and the game is fun. Minimal set up with just 4 miniatures.
I've been playing 1490 Doom since November of 2024, and wargaming since 1989. 1490 Doom one of my favorite games. This is one of the best starter sets I've ever picked up. I had an incorrect piece in mine and the team at Buer Games immediately fixed the issue for me with no hassle at all. Definitely some of the best customer service you're going to get. I was extremely pleased. The figures in this set are fantastic, the terrain assembled in minutes and the battlemat is very high quality and worth saving. If I had to come up with a negative its that once you get your friends hooked on the game with this box set they're going to want to start playing the full version before you're done gamin so make sure you have more of Buer's fantastic minis on hand for them!
Arrived in a good amount of time. Handful of minis, cloth playmat and a small piece of terrain make this set worth the price. Also has step by step instructions for learning to play that add mor elements as you go through them.
Great starter to get in 1490 Doom, which is already a great skirmish game. If you're thinking about getting into the game this is the way to go. Also check out their upcoming game: Pilgrim: The Haunted Frontier.
Amazing! Excited to play with my friends. Great quality and detailed minis. And the bonus mini’s for Pilgrim have me stoked for that game!
Excellent quality miniatures and a complete experience, can't wait to expand my collection.
Great product, fast shipping.
Great product
The game is a great idea and I'm happy to support it, but the box is extremely expensive for the low value of its contents, there are numerous errors in the pamphlet and cards, the paper material feels like cheep printouts, the game mat has a jagged edge, and overall there's nowhere near enough stuff in it to justify its price.
the scenarios don't feel playtested and didn't work very well.
miniatures were decent quality, decent prints, and the mdf terrain was fine. but again nowhere near 70 bucks' worth.
overall i'm quite disappointed with the value for money but i will probably continue to play the game with my own fixes and ideas i can find on discord.
miniatures: 4 stars, everything else: 1 star. average: 2 stars.
Fast shipping. There was a missing piece from the set and I emailed them. They replied in like 4 hours and had the missing piece shipped the next day. I really look forward to playing this game for a while.
What an amazing game and an amazing starter set. Highly recommend recommended!
Great starter set.
Excellent starter set with minis and terrain for a low price. Well thought out.
