Introduction

At Buer Games, we believe that creativity thrives in community. Our games—ranging from tactical skirmishes to sprawling narrative-driven worlds—are built on a foundation of collaboration, imagination, and kitbash ingenuity. We want to keep it that way.


This license defines how you can legally create, publish, and distribute third-party content for any Buer Games property. Our goal is to support and protect creators while preserving the identity and integrity of each setting.


What You Can Create

You are free to develop:


  • Custom miniatures, terrain, and STL files
  • Fan rules, factions, or campaigns
  • Stories, lore zines, and art books
  • Music, soundscapes, or digital tools
  • Solo modes, hacks, or alternate settings

We want to see it all. Just follow the relevant guidelines below.


License Levels


1. Unofficial & Free

You may freely distribute unofficial content under the following terms:


  • You may not use the Buer Games company logo by itself
  • You must use either:
  • An official “Compatible with [Game Name]” logo from our website OR
  • A custom version of the game’s logo with the exact phrase “Compatible with” placed directly above it in a clear and legible manner
  • The “Compatible with” logo must be prominently featured:
  • On the cover of any printed or digital books, PDFs, or supplements
  • In the first product image or preview image shown on any website, store, marketplace, or download page
  • You may reference mechanics, gameplay terms, and public-facing material
  • You must include a disclaimer (see Attribution below)
  • You may say your content is “inspired by [Game Name]” or “made for use with [Game Name]”
  • You may not monetize this content

You may not reproduce or adapt official rules text. However, you may reference the source by book and page number (e.g., "See [Game Name] Core Rulebook, page 42").


No permission required.


2. Compatible with [Game Name] (for commercial use)

If you want to sell content and label it Compatible with one of our games:


  • Submit a short project overview to [contact@buergames.com]
  • We’ll confirm it aligns with our community guidelines (no hate speech, no misuse of IP)
  • You must use either:
  • The official “Compatible with [Game Name]” logo from our site OR
  • A modified version of the game’s logo with the phrase “Compatible with” placed directly above it
  • The “Compatible with” logo must be prominently featured:
  • On the cover of any book, PDF, or rules supplement
  • In the first product image or display image of any item listed for sale, download, or promotion (e.g. STL files, miniatures, terrain kits, etc.)
  • You may request limited use of official names or setting elements
  • You must not claim official endorsement
  • You owe us nothing—this is not a revenue share

Lightweight review only. You keep full creative control.


3. Licensed or Co-Published

If you’re seeking:


  • Official branding and integration
  • Use of major IP, locations, or characters
  • Help with development, distribution, or fulfillment
  • Kickstarter/retail collaboration
  • The ability to sell your material directly on Buer Games’ official website or through our sales channels

Then we can discuss an official license or co-publishing agreement. These are selective, contract-based partnerships with shared revenue and shared vision.

Restrictions

Regardless of license level, you may not:


  • Reproduce or adapt official rules text, character bios, or lore books without permission
  • Use the Buer Games company logo, fonts, or campaign branding unless expressly approved
  • Imply official endorsement or partnership unless licensed
  • Create NFTs, blockchain content, or AI-generated material using our IP
  • Violate our community standards or promote hate, violence, or discrimination

Note:

All public-facing content must display either:

  • An official “Compatible with [Game Name]” logo found on this page, or
  • A custom version of the game’s logo with “Compatible with” placed directly above the logo in a visible and legible style

This logo must be clearly and prominently visible:

  • On the front cover of any book, supplement, or rules document
  • In the first preview/product image shown on any storefront, marketplace, or download platform

This ensures clarity and consistency across the community. Use of these logos does not imply endorsement.


Required Attribution

All projects under this license must include the following:


“This is an independent production by [Your Name or Studio] and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Buer Games. All related IP is © Buer Games. Used with permission under the Buer Games Third Party License.”

If approved as "Compatible with [Game Name]", you must also:


  • Include the phrase:
    • “Compatible with [Game Name], by Buer Games.”
  • And display either:
  • The official “Compatible with [Game Name]” logo
  • Or a version of the logo with the phrase “Compatible with” placed directly above it,

This must be prominently featured on cover of all book or written offerings and be placed on the first promotional or storefront image


Final Notes

This license is subject to future updates. The latest version will be available here.


We reserve the right to revoke or deny use of this license for harmful, exploitative, or misleading content.


A grace period is in place for any creators already selling Buer Games-inspired content—reach out and we’ll help you transition smoothly.
